Traditional PlastisolThis is the most common method used for screen printing. Most shirts or garments you see are done using plastisol inks. As the name implies, these inks are plastic based. Many people associate cracking or flaking with this method. Cracking and flaking of the design, however, only occurs when the ink is not cured properly. When done right, plastisol printing will retain vibrant colors for the lifetime of the garment. Typically, plastisol has a stiff 'hand' or feel on the fabric. We can, however use different methods to soften the feel of the ink to your liking. All of our plastisol inks are completely phthalate compliant, so you don't need to be concerned about your health or the environment. |

Water BasedWater based ink for screen printing is quickly becoming very popular for many reasons. Chances are you've seen, or even own, shirts printed with water based inks already. Unlike plastisol, water based inks are absorbed into the fabric more, resulting in a softer 'hand' or feel. The colors of water based inks are not quite as vivid as plastisol, which is perfect for creating vintage effects. Water based inks will also fade somewhat with time and washing, but they should last the lifetime of any t-shirt. They are also very easy on the environment and our printers! |

DischargeDischarge printing is an exciting process that can be used to create some very appealing effects. Unlike other methods, with discharge printing the dye from the shirts is actually removed by applying discharge agent. The design can be left as the raw fabric color, or we can combine discharge with water based dyes for the softest "hand" or feel imaginable. As you might imagine, discharge printed shirts feel great to wear, and they look amazing. Keep in mind that this method can only be used for 100% cotton or other natural garments. |
